The Spokane Shock announced today that LB Kevin McCullough has been added to the 2010 roster. McCullough, 6-2 250, is the fifth member of the 2009 ArenaCup Champion Shock to join the team for the 2010 season.
Over the past two seasons in Spokane, McCullough has collected 132.5 tackles, 15 interceptions, 13 pass break-ups and four fumble recoveries.
“There is no question that Kevin was one of our leaders on defense last year,” Head Coach Rob Keefe said. “Not only is he a great football player but he is also a great example for other players. He works hard every day and wants to continue to improve. I think he is ready to take his game to the next level in the upcoming season.”
For his part, McCullough has continued working hard in the off-season and hopes to shed some weight and add some quickness to his game.
“I’ve played the last couple of seasons at 250 and I want to lean up to about 240 and increase my speed,” McCullough explained. “I want to be more explosive this year and get some more pass break-ups and interceptions.”
McCullough also added that he is ready for the challenges that are presented with the new league.
“This is a great move not only for the team but also for the city,” McCullough said. “Our fans don’t need to look any further than our roster to see how many talented players Spokane is signing. The level of competition will be better and the teams are going to be better, but we are up for the challenge.”
