The Spokane Shock announced today that DB Dahnel Singfield has been added to the 2010 roster. Singfield, 6-0 195, has two years of AFL experience playing for the Utah Blaze in 2007 and the New York Dragons in 2006. As a member of the Blaze, Singfield tallied 42.5 tackles with one interception in eight games. As an AFL-rookie with the Dragons, Singfield collected 63.5 tackles with seven interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns, and was named to the AFL’s All-rookie team.
During his three-year career in the af2 (Memphis - 2005 Manchester - 2008, Rio Grande Valley - 2009), Signfield recorded 277.5 tackles with 17 interceptions and 75 pass break-ups.
“Dahnel is an athletic veteran who knows the ins and outs of the Arena game,” Head Coach Rob Keefe said. “He has put up consistent numbers in the af2 and at the AFL level and I’m excited to bring him into the mix for 2010.”
For Singfield, coming to Spokane was an easy choice. Two of his friends, WR Huey Whittaker and DL Jerry Turner, had already signed with the Shock and he knew that Spokane would be a good fit.
“I know with Jerry Turner up front, I can make a lot of interceptions,” Singfield said. “Whenever you have a strong defensive line you can do a lot in this game. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the organization and I’m just excited to be a part of it.”
