All Aboard!

05/15/2006 5:57 PM - Spokane Shock fans have been making a habit of turning the Spokane Arena into a loud sea of orange and blue at every home Shock game. This weekend, Shock fans took that enthusiasm and wave of colors on the road to Everett with the ShockWave Cruiser.

The Shock took on the Hawks at the Everett Events Center in the second game of a three-game series between the teams. Fans watched the Shock beat the Hawks 58-29 in a game that clinched bragging rights for the Shock as the best af2 team in Washington.

Shock fans were able to mingle on the bus, discuss their favorite Shock players, and watch footage from previous Shock games in order to gear up for the game. Darby, a 9-year old Spokane boy, who rode the bus to the game with his father, Deron said “The bus trip was SO much fun. It was so cool.”

Many Shock fans may recognize Deron and Darby for their creation of the famous “Keefense” sign that is held in the front row of the arena at every home game. “Rob Keefe is my favorite player. We had to come watch him!” said Darby.

“If you are going to be a fan, you should be willing to go all the way when you can,” said Steve, another fan who made the long trip to Everett to support the Shock. “I loved the trip, it was awesome!”

“Spokane is awesome to us,” said Shock quarterback Alex Neist in a post-game interview. “Our fans really support us.”

The Shock have sold out the Spokane Arena during the last two home games, selling over 10,100 tickets per game. The Shock return to the Spokane Arena with back-to-back home games: May 27th against the Quad City Steamwheelers followed by a June 3rd game against the Central Valley Coyotes. Tickets are available by calling TicketsWest at 325.SEAT.
