Rowley Returns

04/03/2012 12:51 PM -
April 3rd, 2012 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that QB Kyle Rowley has joined the 2012 roster.

This will be Rowley's fourth season (2006, 2010-2011) as a member of the Shock. During that time, the ArenaBowl XXIII MVP has set franchise career records for passing yards (8,691 yards), passing TD's (182), rushing touchdowns (14) and rushing yards (143).

In addition to leading the Shock to an ArenaCup Championship in its inagural season, Rowley also helped guide Spokane to its first AFL title in ArenaBowl XXIII.

"There is no question that Kyle knows the game and he has a Championship-laced resume," General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden said.

"Kyle knows this offense and I expect him to compete for the starting job," Head Coach Andy Olson said. "It's rare to have a veteran with his experience available this late in the season and so we felt like we had to jump on the opportunity."

Rowley, who was released by the Pittsburgh Power earlier this season, will be eligible to play in this weekend's contest against the Arizona Rattlers.

This Friday the Shock will battle the Arizona Rattlers for the second divisional game of the season. In addition to offering live coverage on USTREAM, ESPN 700 will also provide live coverage starting with the pregame show at 6:30 PM.

Spokane's next home game will be played on Saturday, April 14th at 7 PM. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest. Season tickets are also still available and can be purchased by contacting the Shock Ticket Department at 509 242 7462.
