2007 Holiday Gift Guide

12/11/2007 5:17 PM -

Ready or not here comes the holiday shopping season! If you have a Shock fan on your holiday list, here are a few items that you might want to consider.

Season Tickets: Over the last two seasons, Spokane fans have come out in droves to support the Shock, drawing over 190,000 fans through the doors of the Spokane arena. These league-leading attendance figures have made Shock season tickets one of the hottest tickets in town and one of the hottest gifts under the tree.

According to General Manager Adam Nebeker, season ticket sales are actually ahead of last year's pace.

“Most of our fans renewed their season tickets from last year and many added additional seats,” Nebeker said. "And we have fans who went to one or two games and enjoyed it so much they picked up season tickets for next year.”

Season ticket prices range from $56 - $299, so you're sure to find something within your holiday budget. Here’s a look at the different seating areas available:

FOX HOLE: You can’t get any closer to the action then the Fox Hole. A ticket in the Fox Hole puts you on the field level at the east endzone. Fans in this area can interact with the players before kick-off, trading high-fives and handshakes. If the person on your shopping list enjoys being a part of the action, this is the present for them. Price: $299/seat

LOWER LEVEL ENDZONE: These are the only seats remaining in the lower level. These seats are available in both the east and the west endzones. “It’s important to remember that an arena football field is only 50 yards;” Nebeker explained. “Even when the players are at the other end of the field, you're only 50 yards away from the action.” Price: $109/seat

UPPER LEVEL SIDELINE:  These seats, located in the upper level, seem to fit the need of the football purist who enjoys seeing the whole field and watching a play develop. Seats are available as low as the fifth row and as low as the tenth row at midfield. Price: $83/per seat.

FAMILY SECTION: The Family Section was created for fans looking for an affordable and family-friendly seating area. In the Family Section (section 204), alcohol and vulgar language are pohibited, enforced by Arena Security. This seats offer the cheapest season ticket price available. Price: $56/seat

Shock Merchandise: The Shock’s ever-growing fan base has an insatiable appetite for their favorite team. Offering everything from hats to t-shirts to sweatshirts, you 're sure to find something to fit your budget.

Just east of downtown inside Stadium Sports, 933 East Third Ave, Shock fans can find a wide array of Shock merchandise at the Official Team Store. As a holiday special, Stadium Sports has marked all Shock merchandise 20% off (this discount can not be combined with any other discount). Stadium Sports is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM.

Additionally, the Shock also carries a modest variety of merchandise at its headquarters, the Shock Center – located in the Spokane Valley at 3212 North Eden Road. The Shock Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 5 PM.

WINTER GEAR: As the cold winter months have settled over the Inland Northwest, there’s no better way to stay warm and stylish than purchasing a Shock sweatshirt.

Stadium Sports carries a wide array of colors and styles for the Shock fan on your shopping list. With cutting edge designs, Stadium Sports carries lots of adult sizes in a variety of colors, but have limited inventory on youth and smaller sizes. If your Shock fan is a little more conservative, the Shock center has some sweatshirts with a more basic design. Locations: Stadium Sports and the Shock Center

HEAD GEAR: Towards the end of last season, Stadium Sports released a new line of hats that sold remarkable well, according to Dave Mason of Stadium Sports.

“Everything has been selling really well, especially the hats,” explained Mason.

If you are looking for a stocking cap to keep you warm during the winter months, the Shock’s online store is your best bet.

T-SHIRTS: The T-Shirt seems to be the basic staple in every Shock fan’s wardrobe. Last season, Stadium Sports introduced player t-shirts that captured some of the more popular players including Rob Keefe, Raul Vijil and Jerome Stevens among others. For the Rob Keefe fan on your list, Stadium Sports is offering a free Rob Keefe T-Shirt for all customers who purchase at least $100 of merchandise.

The Shock Center also carries T-Shirts in a variety of styles and colors. Location: Stadium Sports and the Shock Center

JERSEYS:  Easily one of the most popular merchandise items, the Shock Center has a limited supply of official game jerseys in both navy blue and the special edition orange jersey. These jerseys are marked down to $70 for the holiday season. Location: Shock Center

PUT A BOW ON IT:  Now that you have your gifts picked out, there's only one step left - wrapping them. That's where former Spokane Shock DL Devon Parks comes in.  Parks has started his own gift wrapping business in the River Park Square mall.  Located on the second floor (across from the Gap), Parks will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Wishing Star Foundation. This Saturday, from 12-3, some of Parks' Shock teammates will be helping him put the perfect bow on your present.

Santa Fox is making his list, and he's checking it twice. So be sure to pick up a gift for your Shock fan, whether they have been naughty or nice!
