10/09/2006 1:08 PM - Former Shock WR/LB Kevin Beard has signed a contract with the defending Arena Bowl Champion Chicago Rush.
Beard was a dual threat in the Shocks offense scoring 13 total touchdowns during the regular season, with ten receiving touchdowns and three on the ground. He also contributed with 828 all purpose yards averaging 69 yards/game that placed him third on the team.
Beards best game of the season came in the ArenaCup 7 where he led the team in receiving yards (122) and scored two touchdowns that helped secure the Championship for the Shock.
Kevin made some valuable contributions to our team, Shock General Manager Adam Nebeker said. He will be missed, but this is the opportunity that he wanted and so we are happy for him.
Beard is now the second player in Shock history to sign with an AFL team. Last week, Antwone Savage became the first when he signed with the Dallas Desperados.
