2012 Dance Team Tryouts
The Rockstar Spokane Shock Dance Team are the premier Dance Team for the Spokane Shock Arena Football
Team. We are back, and ready for another amazing season! The team performs at each of the nine (9) Shock home
games in the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, as well as make appearances at community events in and around
Spokane, and bring an undeniable energy to over 10,000 fans per game!!

Requirements
On Tryout Day
• Must be 18 years of age by the start of the 2012 season. Valid ID is required
• Must submit a non-returnable individual photo (headshot preferred) at least 5×7 in size
• Must submit a non-returnable resume including professional and dance experience
• Being a Rockstar Shock dancer is a commitment so you must have an accommodating schedule and be able to
attend appearances, all home games, and practices and workout
• Must have reliable means of transportation
• Must have some form of dance training
* Those who are selected to advance past the first round, will need to stay from 5 PM - 7 PM to learn the routine that will be performed on January 18th at the finals. A short break between the cuts and the evening session.
Attire
• Preliminary Audition – Half top or sports bra and shorts, form-fitting shorts or skirt, of any color or style
• Interview – Trendy pant suit, skirt suit, or business casual attire
• Finals – Details will be provided after the first round of tryouts
• Footwear – Any sneakers or dance shoes of your choice
• Appearance – Hair and makeup should be sophisticated and glamorous. You are encouraged to bring touchup
makeup and hair products. This is a professional audition, it is important to maintain a game day appearance!
The Rockstar Shock Dance Team performs with their hair down and make-up is always performance ready!
* Visible tattoos should be covered with makeup and body piercings should be removed
Auditions:

Registration – Begins at 11:00am but girls are strongly suggested to pre-register

Interviews
Location – Spokane Shock Center

Date – Sunday, January 8th, 2012 & Monday January 9th
Time – Your time will be given to you, it will be between the hours of 4 – 7 p.m.
Attire – Trendy pant suit, skirt suit, or business casual attire
Description – Each finalist will schedule an interview time following preliminary auditions. Attire for the
interviews is business casual and the interview will be approx 10-15 minutes in length. The interviews
will be conducted by the Rockstar Shock Dance Team Director - Maggie Kazemba,
Director of Marketing & Operations - Lance Beck, and Director of Communications - Kevin Maloney.
Review Class (optional)
Location – Spokane Shock Center

Date – Monday, January 16, 2012
Time – TBD
Attire – Half top or sports bra and shorts, form-fitting shorts or skirt, of any color or style
Description – Review is optional. The various routines from tryouts will be thoroughly reviewed and
cleaned in anticipation for the FINAL AUDITION!
Finals
Location – The Knitting Factory - Downtown Spokane, WA
Date – Wednesday, January 18th, 2012
Time – 6pm doors, 7pm Show begins
Attire – Details will be provided after the first round of tryouts
Description – The final round of auditions will include performing various routines learned during
preliminary auditions in front a panel of judges and SHOCK fans. There will be a photo shoot immediately
following the final audition for the new Rockstar Shock Dance Team.
